Monitoring your blood pressure is important, even if you are not on any blood pressure medications. Often there are no symptoms or warning signs if you have high blood pressure. People with a higher risk of having high blood pressure include people who

We offer a free in-pharmacy blood pressure monitoring service. After you have a short rest, one of our pharmacists will measure your blood pressure, followed by a brief consultation.

Blood Glucose Monitoring

Diabetes is a complex condition in which the body can not maintain healthy levels of glucose in the blood. There are 3 main types of diabetes, Type 1 (when the pancreas does not produce insulin), Type 2 (when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin or the body is not able to utilise the insulin) and Gestational Diabetes (when diabetes occurs during pregnancy).

A high blood glucose level (hyperglycaemia) is one indicator of diabetes. Common symptoms include

We offer a free blood glucose monitoring service. Testing is quick and simple. We take a small sample of blood from a quick finger prick, and this is placed on a testing strip using a blood glucose meter. The result is virtually instant. Our pharmacists can then interpret the result and advise on the next steps to take based on your reading

NDSS Access Point and Diabetes Counselling

National Diabetes Services Scheme registrants can access NDSS products through our pharmacy. Our pharmacists are also able to provide advice on managing your diabetes, or guide new registrants on how to sign up with the NDSS.

Medication Packing

Taking medications incorrectly can undermine their effectiveness and even be harmful. Thousands of people are hospitalised each year due to taking their medication incorrectly. If you are on multiple medications, it can be difficult to keep track of when and how much to take of each. If you

We offer a free medication packing service for patients who need their medications packed long term. We can also pack medications for when patients go into Respite or when they are travelling and don’t want to bring all their bulky boxes with them. The pharmacist will have an in-depth consultation with you regarding when you take your medication and/or supplements and liaise with your doctor if needed.

Local Home Delivery

We offer a free home delivery service to those who live locally and are unable to visit the pharmacy themselves.

Iron Testing

Iron deficient anaemia is the only nutrient deficiency which is significantly prevalent in high-income countries. Low iron levels can be caused by a low or inadequate intake of iron rich foods, an inadequate ability to absorb iron properly, and/or excessive bleeding or blood loss. This can result in-

We offer an in-pharmacy iron testing service. One of our pharmacists will do a quick finger prick to draw blood. A test strip is used to collect a small sample of blood and then inserted into our machine, which will give you a general reading of whether or not you are in the recommended range. Our pharmacists will give you a quick consultation based on your reading, and are happy to answer any further questions you may have.

Bowel Cancer Screening

Everyone over the age of 50 is advised to have an annual bowel cancer screen. Early detection is important, as 90% of treatment from early detection is successful. BowelCare Australia provide take-home test kits with clear instructions on what to do.

The Bowel Screening Test Kits are now available for purchase in our pharmacy.

Return Unwanted Medicine Service

If you have any prescription medication that is expired or no longer wanted/needed, simply bring them into our pharmacy and we can properly dispose of them for you.

Asthma Technique Check

Approximately 80% of people who use medication administered through an inhaler do not use the device correctly. Proper technique is important in managing asthma, and incorrect use means you do not utilise the medication properly.

We offer a free inhaler technique check. After observing how you use your inhaler, our pharmacists can briefly explain and demonstrate proper technique of inhaler use if needed.

Staged Supply

Some people may find it difficult to take the correct dosage of medication. This may include people who are trying to reduce the dosage of medication they are already taking.

We offer a staged supply service. Our pharmacists can work jointly with your doctor to organise specific intervals for you to come in to the pharmacy and take your medication. If you are unsure if this service would beneficial for you or someone you know, speak to one of our pharmacists.

Compounding Service

Some prescribed medication is not readily available at all pharmacies and need to be made by combining ingredients in quantities dictated by the prescription. This allows the medication to be customised to meet the patient’s specific needs.

We offer a compounding service. If you require medication to be compounded, speak to one of our pharmacists for more information of the process and time frame.

In-Pharmacy and Home Medication Reviews

Even for people who have their medication packed, it may be difficult to remember what each medication is used for. It is important to understand why you are taking the medication you are prescribed, understand why the doctor has made alterations to the strength or dosage, and ensure you are not taking anything you do not need to.

We offer medication reviews in our pharmacy. Patients who come into the pharmacy may request a medication review from the pharmacist. For patients on multiple medications, the pharmacist may initiate a review while handing out your medication.

We also offer medication reviews in your home for patients who are unable to visit the pharmacy, or to gain a better understanding of how you take your medication at home. Patients can organise a time and date for the pharmacist to visit and go through your medication and how you take it in-depth in the comfort of your own home.

Script Reminder Service

Not only do people who take medication need to remember when to take their medicine, they also need to remember when their repeat is due and when they require a new script. People who are unaware when they require a new script and cannot obtain their medication may miss doses and undermine their medication’s effectiveness.

We offer a free subscription to our script reminder service. Patients using this service can receive alerts to their phone reminding them when they need a new script from the doctor, or when their next lot of medication is due.

Scripts On File Service

Prescriptions or scripts are important documents from the doctor that authorises you to be given a medication. Even for people who are not on multiple medications, it may be difficult to keep track of your scripts. Losing a script means you will need to visit the doctor to obtain a new one.

We offer a free ‘scripts on file’ service. Patients may choose to leave their scripts with their pharmacy to ensure they are safe and in one place.

Crutch Hire

It can be costly to buy a pair of crutches, especially if you only need them for a brief period of time. Furthermore, using crutches at the wrong height can cause problems along your back.

If you require crutches, we offer a crutch hire service. Our staff can fit a pair of crutches to the right height for your use, and simply return to the pharmacy when you no longer need them.

Special Orders

If you have trouble finding a specific item in stores and pharmacies, we can try and order it in for you. Speak to one of our staff about the product you are looking for and we can check if it is available.
